Luis Antonio Faiella was born in Cava de’ Tirreni, in southern Italy.
From an early age, he spent long hours watching his older brother cook traditional local dishes. From the age of 8, he began accompanying him in the kitchen, and together they went fishing every day near Salerno and Amalfi. Luis Antonio, still a child, was in charge of cleaning the fish – his first taste of the world of gastronomy.
His destiny was already clear. At the age of 14, driven by a real passion, he began vocational studies to become a chef.
He began his career in Courmayeur, where he joined a brigade of French chefs who would become true role models for him. Curious and keen to improve his skills, he devoted three years to pastry-making, enriching his palette of skills in the process.
He then returned to Courmayeur to work with other chefs who, impressed by his work, invited him to follow them to Crans-Montana in Switzerland in 2014. After more than three years assisting them, he took over as head chef.
